It is hard to believe and accept that Jerry is gone. It always seemed like he would be here forever. When Don and I married almost 44 years ago, Shirley and Jerry welcomed me into Don’s work family like they had always known me. Always a huge smile, an engaging chat, such a welcoming force where ever you met up with them. Langford Lumber has always been such a huge part of our lives, for so many years. Don started working with Jerry when he was only 16, and h e has so many good memories of those days, and also when Jerry met Shirley. I remember seeing Jerry and Shirley at the Central Hotel, and they were such a perfect fit for each other. It is just so hard to believe the Patriarch of this family is longer with us. Our sympathy to each and every one of you. I am sure Brenda was waiting with her own huge smile, and her arms open ,,,to welcome Jerry home, and to lead him on his new path in life. He showed great confidence in me as an 18 year old truck driver and a 21 year old yard foreman which I have greatly appreciated. I still have pictures of the weekend trips we took with the 1965 Pontiac convertible.

As I reflect on life,fond memories of a kind,good humoured,honourable family man comes to mind.

I remember when Jerry first opened the store in Lucan,he rented an apt from my parents on Water St. becoming fast friends.
Soon after when you & the kids joined him in that wee apt as he renovated the farmhouse,the creek between us was our beloved playground.

One of my best memories with your family & the Steepers was in Cocoa Beach Fla in the mid 70s – oh the fun we had!!
