Have known Ivan since grade one [we both passed]. We were the only two in the rest of the grades [our school being the old farm school]. Had the comparing of answers on exams down perfect……except for once….both of us made the same error!! Teacher couldn’t figure it out!!
He came to our wedding in Kapuskasing where THEY started a new bambino, that they called Kathy nine months later. Ivan always said they were just showing us how! He was a good person and will be missed by many people. A life well lived is a life that will be remembered with love, and Ivan will be remembered with love.

Betty Lou and family, Kathy and I were so sorry to hear of your loss. We remember Ivan as a prankster with a terrific sense of humor. I had fun working the summer with him and spending time with your family. He taught me how to drive a stick shift truck. I remember him telling me ” don’t work too hard, but get lots done.” He was a good farmer and was never afraid of hard work. Kathy and I enjoyed the time we spent with your family making maple sugar and attending family reunions. He will be greatly missed. We were fortunate to know him.

Betty Lou & Family, I am so sorry for your loss, Ivan was a good man, musician and friend. Please accept my condolences.
My deepest sympathy to your entire family during this very difficult time.
When i was young my family owned the old schoolhouse across the cow pasture from the Norris Dairy farm. Many happy days were spent playing hide and seek in Ivan’s barn and hayloft, eating Betty Lou’s wonderful cooking, and riding snowmobiles in winter. Ivan was a warm and loving man and treated us neighbor kids like family. There will always be a special place in my heart for him and his lovely family.
