Worked with him at the Times-Advocate in Exeter. He was always willing to go above and beyond to get the job done. One of the best production guys I ever worked with and always in a fantastic mood.

When I heard about Bob’s passing, so many wonderful memories came rushing into my mind!
Nic’ was such a sweet and kind man.

Oh the laughs we had together working at the Exeter Times-Advocate!
Always whistling under his breath – little quips and comments – shy personality but once you got to know ‘Nic’ you would never forget him.

What a wonderful mentor! I will never forget the twinkle in his eye and the time we spent together in his ‘dark room’

RIP in peace ‘Nic’ – You have made the world a better place just by being in it!!!

Your friends,
Deb and Dick Lord

Enjoyed working with “Nick” for many years. He was a big part of the T-A family.
His work was always top quality and his sense of humour made our breaks a lot of fun.

Condolence from Dan Haugh on December 15th, 2020 1:41 PM

The news of Bob’s passing is definitely sad news, but my memories of Nic immediately brought a smile to my face. He was a wonderful man.
Unlike a lot of the people who have left condolences here, I didn’t work with Nic at the T-A. I did however spend a lot of time at the newspaper in my younger years with my dad, and I have fond memories of Nic. He always made me feel at home. I also remember a trip I took with my dad and Nic to the horse races at Woodbine one sunny summer afternoon.
My condolences to Nic’s family including his T-A family. I know that my dad, Ross Haugh thought very highly of Nic and he is sending this condolences here along with mine
Rest In Peace Nic.

Comforted that my dear cousin Bob passed quietly in the excellent care of Villa team.
Thanks Muriel for you loving care of Bob. He was my closest buddy & best friend since childhood… so many fun and loving memories at his cottage, visits, & continuous phone calls. Moved to Vancouver 16 years ago and we kept close.
Richly blessed by Bob’s friendship, he was a great guy.
RIP dear buddy 💝

Condolence from Tom Creech on December 16th, 2020 12:20 PM

Nic was a kind, gentle soul who was a pleasure to work with and who taught me so much about developing film and printing photos. Nic was also a favorite of my dad’s and they were a part of the Pin Poppers who “terrorized” the Exeter Bowling Lanes in the late 50’s and early 60’s. I will always remember the morning and afternoon lunch breaks where Nic and Bill Batten held court.

A great guy who will be missed.

Thinking of Nic brought back many happy memories of my time at the Times Advocate. Nic always processed the reporters’ films quickly and expertly. . Coffee breaks were filled with fun and laughter, thanks in no small part to Nic’s contributions. He was a dear. Yvonne
