Posted By Haskett Funeral Homes On June 6, 2007 @ 6:44 PM In Obituary,Zurich | 1 Comment

Peacefully, at Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall, on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, Georgina May (Santo) Murray passed away in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Murray (1973). Dear mother of Doris Ball of Bayfield, Pat and Walter Langley of Bayfield and Carole and John Halse of Stouffville. Loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Jack, sisters Helen, Margaret, Doris and Lillian and son-in-law Richard Ball. We were privileged to have received her love, life lessons and art. Never judging, always supportive, she left the world a warmer and prettier place than she found it. This beloved and devoted wife, loving mum, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend will be missed by us all. Some things will not make sense with her gone. Be at peace G.G.

There will be no funeral home visitation. A celebration of Georgina’s life will be held at the “Murray” cottage, Dow St. Bayfield, on August 26, 2007. Cremation with interment of ashes in Forest Lawn Cemetery, London.

Georgina requested memorial donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Pioneer Park Association, Box 2115, Bayfield, Ont. N0M 1G0. The family wishes to thank Dr. Charles Wallace and Maggie Visscher for their compassionate care and the staff of Queensway Nursing Home for their wonderful care and devotion to Georgina.

I will miss Georgina and also her family. To see the committment that Doris & the rest of Georgina’s family made to support her during her time at Queensway & her dying was an example for all of us to aspire to. I recently read again the interview the Lakeshore Advance did with Georgina in January of 2006 when she was 98 years young, that captured her vibrancy & lively intelligence. Farewell to Georgina & a life well lived. Sincerely, Carol Gascho
