With her lovely smile, passed away peacefully at Chartwell Parkhill Long Term Care Residence on Sunday, July 22, 2018 of Exeter in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late James (Jim) Mountenay (2016). Sadly missed by her children Anthony and Debbie Mountenay of Exeter, Christine and Marty Colfer of Vaughan, and Eugene Mountenay and Sylvia Wood of Parkhill. Cherished grandma of Joe Mountenay of Dartmouth, Chris and Melissa Mountenay of Angus, Charmaine and Steve Cummings of Florida, Craig Harrison of Calgary, Sara Colfer-Holiday and Jeff Holiday of Toronto, Dan Colfer and Amira James-Colfer of Toronto, and  Scott Mountenay and Gabriela Reyes of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Jessie Foster, sister Margaret, and brothers Fred, Arnold, Ebby, and Tom. Vera was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 8, 1932. When Vera and Jim moved to Exeter in 1974 she babysat many of the young children of Exeter. Vera loved every child she met.  She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at the coffee shops and had a passion for music and dancing. Right up until the very end she would listen to her music and if she couldn’t dance, she would wiggle her toes.

To The Mountenay Families:
Thinking of you at this sad and difficult time. Vera was a neighbour ever since they moved to Exeter. She was such a gracious lady and babysitter for many a child. I was an at-home mom at the time and enjoyed visiting with her even after she had given up her babysitting. Deepest Sympathy.
