Gerald, who grew up in Hensall, built a life in Egmondville after marrying the love of his life, Blanche, on November 16, 1957. He dedicated his entire career to General Coach, Hensall and found joy in fishing, woodworking, colouring with his grandkids, playing cards such as crib and solo and cheering on his many favourite sports teams. A devoted Stratford Cullitons fan, he especially cherished taking Blanche to their games. Gerald had a deep love for birds, always ensuring his home was surrounded by feeders to welcome his feathered friends. He took great pride and attention to detail in everything he did. He felt if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing it right. His warmth, passion, and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Homes, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Thursday, April 3rd from 10 – 11 AM. Following the visitation Gerald’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 AM. Cremation to follow. Interment Egmondville Cemetery at a later date.
Donations to the Seaforth Community Hospital or Heart & Stroke Foundation in Gerald’s memory would be appreciated by the family.

Our sincere condolences to Larry, Corrie and all family members for your loss. Your are in our thoughts.
I worked with Gerald doing some housekeeping duties and when I left for Florida he wished me well and I had hopes of seeing him again. I was reassigned when I returned from holidays so I didn’t get to see him again. I was just to the house tonight and when he didn’t answer the door my heart was aching. I checked and sure enough I had waited too long. He was a lovely man and truly loved telling about his family. I really enjoyed the time I spent with him. I am so sorry to hear of his passing
My sympathy to the Moir family.
Sincerely, RUth SMith.
