METZGER: Brigitte Dorothea (Heim) Metzger, of RR 1, Dashwood, was born on November 19, 1939, was baptised February 4, 1940 and was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the early hours of Tuesday, March, 9, 2021, peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at her residence, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of 58 years to Martin Johannes Metzger. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Matthias and Monika Metzger of RR 1, Dashwood, Gerhard and Heike Metzger of Hensall and Angelika and Stephen Weiss of Colorado. Cherished grandma of Marc Metzger, Sabrina and Shaun Doyle, Stephanie Metzger and Jarrett Johns, Jason Metzger, Jonah Weiss, Thea Weiss, Lena Weiss and Micah Weiss. Treasured great-grandma of Deacon Doyle. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Dorthea Reese-Heim and her husband Jens, Susanne Kaucher and her husband Rolf, Friedhelm Metzger and his wife Rose all of Germany. Remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Gerhard and Luise (Schenk) Heim, brother Hansjörg Heim and brother-in-law Gerhard Metzger. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood with a private family visitation. The Funeral Service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood, on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. Due to COVID Restrictions please contact the Funeral Home at 519-237-3532 to register for attendance. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to the Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Brigette was my “star” pupil when she attended ESL classes many years ago. I learned many things from Brigitte. She and Martin really helped hold my class together. I will have many good memories of the nights at our classes. It was a pleasure to attend the celebration of her birthday a few months ago. Brigitte looked so elegant that evening and was so happy.

Ich habe es leider erst jetzt mitbekommen und bin unheimlich traurig und teile die tiefe Trauer der Familie. “Tante Briggi” war mir immer ein Fels in der Brandung in der Zeit, als ich in Korntal im Internat war. Es war wunderschön auf dem Hof, die Familie und ich habe viel von ihr gelernt.
