Condolence From: David & Rita Geoffrey
Hello Cousins All,
Rita & I extend our condolences at the loss of your father & brother.
Hopefully, you will be at peace knowing that he is in a better place with the Lord. I think I became aware of “my cousin” Leo when I was about 10, vacationing at the Brisson’s on Zurich Rd. & 14th. It’s probably when I also met Cecile…..I think they were dating, not yet married. Cecile seemed to be the more lively, fun loving type & Leo, quieter & more reserved. Sorry to say, I’m not sure we ever made contact with them other than possibly at a Brisson affair ……
In my later day, it has occurred to me how remote “the Meidingers” were in our lives. We got re-acquainted briefly with Ivan & his wife (? please excuse) about 10 years ago, & then Ginny after Ivan died. She & I have maintained periodic e-mail contact since. Rita & I visited with her briefly in late October. We’re pleased that we’re “getting to know you”, regrettably a little too late for Leo. We’re happy to now have Pat & Steve in our e-mail circle!
To Ivan & Cecile’s children, we wish you PEACE! and having lost both parents in such close proximity will make this holiday season more difficult to cope with. Our prayers are with ALL OF YOU!!!
Rita & I will be unable to attend the Funeral Mass as we will be in IL with our son, his wife Leslie & our grandkids.
Warmly. David & Rita Geoffrey

May we offer our deepest sympathies to the Meidinger family, on the loss of a dear Father and Grandfather. Leo was an incredible and caring person. Leo and I shared the same birthdate, and that is something I will carry in my heart forever. It is never easy losing someone we love, especially now so close to Christmas, but knowing that Dad & Mom are spending Christmas together in Heaven might bring you some comfort. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult.
