Alva Hazel McKellar (née Dupee) passed away at Huronview Home For The Aged, on Monday, February 3, 2020 at the age of 88. Alva was the matriarch of her family, nurturing and caring for all she loved with her feisty, independent nature. A road trip, admiring the sights of the countryside, was always an enjoyable day out for Alva.
Alva will be fondly remembered by her son Garry McKellar, her grandchildren Terrylyn Jacob, Timothy and Sherry McKellar, Karen McKellar and Scott Daniels, great grandchildren Christie Lee, Brody, Casey, Derek and Tara-Lynne and great great granddaughter Avery.
Alva is predeceased by her husband Fergus Duncan McKellar, daughter Karen, son Paul, her parents Norman and Vera (née Elson) Dupee, her siblings and siblings-in-law June Maxwell, Don (Catherine) Dupee, Ken (Dorothy) Dupee, Bruce (Irene) Dupee and all those in the extended McKellar family who have gone on before us.
A memorial service will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth, on Saturday, February 15, 2020, commencing at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at Seaforth Legion, Branch 156, Seaforth. Spring interment in Maitlandbank Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
