MCDONALD: William “Bill” of London formerly of Scotland

Passed away suddenly at his home, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Kim (McGuffin) McDonald for 45 years. Dear brother of Liz Vessie. Adored uncle of Robert and Kelly Hiller. Bill will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and the extended McDonald and McGuffin families. Predeceased by brothers George, and Rob, and sisters Margaret, Mary, and Martha.

Bill was born in 1954 and grew up in Scotland, then later moved to Canada. After meeting Kim and loving Canada, there was no option but to stay. Throughout his life, “Scotty” worked many years at Accuride as a line worker and a bit of a “troublemaker”, until he retired in 2012.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 6 – 8 PM. Registration is required. Please click “Register Now” below, to register. A private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan (519-227-4211).

Donations to charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Condolence from Mr. John Hryckiw on January 19th, 2023 4:01 AM

I am sorry for your loss Kim, condolences to the McDonald family. William passing away was a shock to me. He was kind, cheerful, pleasant, and friendly. He was a friend of mine and a work brother. I could expect him to back me up at work and he could expect the same from me. Before he retired the last few years he drove forklift for Accuride. He did this with precision and accuracy. He will be in my memory always.

This is such a big loss to all the family. I have known Billy since he was 8yrs of age and my youngest Brother in Law . We are heartbroken by all the recent losses and life will never be the same. It’s not an easy road ahead Kim as I know. I only hope his big Brothers and Sisters were there waiting for him with open arms. 💕
