MAXWELL: Steven of Seaforth

Peacefully at his home on October 17, 2022 of Seaforth at the age of 63. Missed by his good friend Nancy. Proud father of Heather Martin (Chris), Samantha Maxwell, Stacey Dodge (Aaron), and Mike Maxwell. Loving Grandpa of Garren, and Diesel; Jakob; Mathew, Sean, Jordyn, and Landon; Savannah, Sophie and Mia. Dear brother of Susan Morden (Jamie), Michael Maxwell, Sheila Labine (Rene), Shelley Hampton. Fondly remembered by the Eden Springs Family. Missed by his pug Percy. Predeceased by parents June (Dupee) and Wally Maxwell.

Steve was a big-hearted athletic outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt, locally he was a fisherman’s guide in Huron County. Steve always helped anyone in need and had a big heart and gave the best hugs. He also loved to play sports, including baseball, and was a big Chicago Blackhawks fan.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Friday October 28, 2022 from 2 – 5PM at the Clinton Legion. Please feel free to bring a dish of your own as the celebration will be a potluck. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Steve, my big brother, as siblings we may not have always seen eye to eye. When we were younger we fought as many siblings do. You got me in trouble and also got me out. You were a pain and a friend, I always knew you were there if I needed something and you would help in any way you could. You were a good friend to many, and as my big brother I am feeling the loss in ways I never expected to, Bye Steve, you will be remembered. Love forever, till we meet again. My heartfelt condolences to Heather, Samantha, Stacey, and Mike along with all their families, on the loss of their Dad and to Mike, Sheila and Shelley. Now Five become Four.

‘Hey Crud’..anyone who knew that Steve & I were best friends for the best part of 30 yrs will understand this. It was our nick names for each other as far back as I can remember. Can’t remember how it happened but it stuck. Steve was my best man at my wife Judy’s & mine wedding. Seems like few years ago, but 32 now. I was like the 6th child in the Maxwell family, that’s how close I was with Steve. We essentially did everything together for many many yrs. Hunting, fishing, drinking, hockey. Two peas in a pod. We drifted apart over time as it sometimes happens but stayed in touch through social media. Lost track of Steve last few yrs but I know he hadn’t forgot about me, as he knew I hadn’t forgot about him. Saw him at June’s funeral few yrs back & when we saw each other time melted away. Now I’m saying goodbye to my best friend. I know we’ll see each other later on. Miss ya Buddy. R.I.P. Steve.

Although we only knew Steve for a few years, I can say he was always so chipper, helpful and such a warm spirit around camp. We didn’t see him this year a lot at camp but when we did it was always with little Percy following along behind in tow. God speed my friend, your missed by so many.
