My condolences to Doug’s family. I was a small part of Doug’s support system within Community Living – Doug attended the day program where I was employed. Doug enjoyed a chuckle, he had a good sense of humor which showed often when given the right moment or encouraged. He had a warm spot for a buddy Barry who would center Doug out for conversation and a laugh. Doug was a man of few words but was quite intelligent. Doug played a game with most workers in that he would always take part but generally looked for some coaxing to do so. Doug’s personality showed daily it was a pleasure to have worked with him and more importantly to have known him.

Doug was such a kind man with a big heart and a winning smile! Doug was quite witty and loved to tease and joke with all his friends. Everyone who spent time with Doug will mourn his passing but shall find solace in the fact that Doug had strong faith and will be reuniting with family that have passed before him.

Sending prayers of peace for Doug and his family. I had the pleasure of supporting Doug through his final years with Community Living. He was a peaceful man, content in watching old television programs and laughing at his silly cat Dexter. Doug never had a bad word for anyone and was so easy going. He will be missed.
