Avril and Bill, our thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the coming days and weeks. We have so many great memories of Mom, with lots of laughter and fun times. We enjoyed the sing songs, the beers at the picnic table, the poker games, trips to the slots, Las Vegas, Girl’s weekend’s and the list goes on. I was just thinking the other day of our Christmas sing song at our house last December, the last time we heard her play the guitar and how our sing songs will never be the same without her. You had a great Mother and someone who will be truly missed by many.

Avril and Bill,
I guess “what a lady” doesn’t quite sum it all up ….. but, you had to know her, to know ….. “what a lady” …… means to us.
“The amazing Mrs. Rinn”
Remembering her always, ….. in a song!
Love
Doug and Linda

Avril & Billy, I want you to know that my thoughts are with you both during this very difficult time. There are so many wonderful memories of Auntie Mary and they will be cherished forever. I can can still hear her laughing and I can picture her with her guitar singing all of the “oldies”. She will truly be missed.

Condolence from Chelsey Manning on November 16th, 2010 8:22 PM

Avril and Bill,

I just wanted to let you know that I’m keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I have so many great memories of your Mom growing up – her infectious laugh and smile, her incredible personality, her never ending energy and her honesty. Growing up I never really knew how to explain Mom’s gang, so they were deemed the ‘crazies’ because of their love of life, laughter, love and how they always could make the best of any situation. The crazies love to have a good time and your Mom was such a large part have the fun. I always love hearing the stories from there many girls weekends, trips to the slots and card games – but the thing I will always remember and love the most about your Mom, was her guitar and singing. I always love when the crazies broke out into a song…especially “You Are My Sunshine.” Things will not be easy in the coming days and weeks, but know that your Mom was an incredible woman who was loved by so many. They may be a bit ‘crazy,’ but the girls will always be there for you whenever you need. Mary Ellen truly in our ‘Sunshine.’

Condolence from Rosemary Travis on November 16th, 2010 10:30 PM

Avril and Bill,
We are all so privileged that your Mom let us in to her “larger than life” world. I can’t imagine she ever questioned anything with “what if”…; she would only have said, “Why the h*** not?”
I wouldn’t want to be the heavenly host in charge of having her guitar tuned up because if it’s not ready, she’ll be kicking some angel arse!
Auntie Mary Ellen, please keep singing in heaven…we’ll be listening for your music and your laughter.
Love,
your God daughter, Rosemary

Condolence from Kathy Audet on November 17th, 2010 5:55 AM

Avril and Bill, even though I can not be with you in this time of need it must make you very proud to know how much your mom was loved by all who knew her. There are alot of stories that when told lead back to your mom doing some kind of antic. She will be sadly missed, but it must make you happy to know that she is still playing her guitar in heaven.
Love Aunt Kathy

Ave & Bill:
I love this photo of your Mom. It makes me smile and I hope it does you too. I’ve heard “Mary Ellen” stories for the past 20 years and I have to say they always made me laugh. While I only got to meet her a handful of times she always had a smile on her face and something funny to say! I only wish I’d heard her sing and play that guitar!! Remember all the good times….it sure sounds like there were lots of them. My thoughts are with you.

Condolence from Helen Ryan on November 17th, 2010 5:27 PM

Avril and Bill;

I sometimes consider Ilderton, my second home. Your mom was part of a gang that loved to socialize, sing, play cards, eat and laugh. What a privilege it was to be there when Mom strummed that guitar and the voices blended into song! She was a trooper and will be missed!!
Remember the happy before the sad!!

Condolence from Sharon Vanderloop on November 18th, 2010 12:35 PM

My heart goes out to you Avril and Billy you had a great Mom. She has touched so many people, there is not one of us that didn’t have a soft spot for her. All those years of working with her there wasn’t a day that she didn’t make me laugh or thinking OMG did she just say that! She was a very special person, a type of person that you don’t run across very often in Life.

Condolence from Anne Langille on November 21st, 2010 1:45 PM

Dear Avril,

Well I guess it goes without saying that your mom was a pretty remarkable woman if she raised a daughter like you—she must have been mighty proud of you!!

All of us at WIL send our sincerest sympathies to you and your family…during this very tough time.

Anne

Condolence from Kevin Nixon on December 26th, 2010 11:59 AM

Avril and Bill,
Boy, it has been a lot of years since we have crossed paths. I am very glad you dropped a message onto Mom’s page, it reminded me of what I should have done back after your Mom passed.

I loved going to the bank when I was a kid, and it was still a joy when I was an adult as your Mom made me feel like a kid all over again. In recent years after your Mom retired I always hoped to get the same greeting when entering, but it just wasn’t the same (Sharon was great, just not the same). I have since left the bank, but brought the memories with me.

All the best,
Kevin
