Peacefully at the Exeter Villa, with family by her side on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the age of 85. Cherished wife of the late Michael T. Mac Neil (2022), for 65 years. Loving mother of Josie Mortimer (Denys) of Exeter, Michael Mac Neil of London, David Mac Neil of Ottawa, and Carol Pelletier (Murray) of Thunder Bay. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Mortimer (Krista), Angela Brannon (Dan), Bryan Bosley (Amanda), Tony Barbosa (Alana), Matthew Barbosa (Anne), Christina Thiessen (Kevin), Courtney Lee, and Olivia Pelletier (Jacob). Great Grandma of Joseph Mortimer, Lauren Mortimer, Jordyn Brannon, Caelan Mortimer, Van Brannon, Logan Bosley, Lucas Bosley, Spencer Thiessen, Brooke Thiessen, Frankie Thiessen, Stella Lee, Jetson Lee, Ethan McKay, Saige McKay, Emerson McKay, and Dorothy Barbosa. Dearly missed sister and sister-in-law of Margaret Hope, Douglas Fenn (Brenda), and Ronald Fenn (Janice). Fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends – of which Denise was her favourite. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Berniece Fenn, her great granddaughter Penelope Barbosa, and her dear, longtime friend Jeannette Seabourne.
Dorothy, Dot, Mom, or Nana, however you knew her, she was always happiest when surrounded by friends and family. She enjoyed relaxing and socializing at the family trailer, with games, music, and campfires. Dorothy was an avid and talented seamstress and quilter, making numerous articles of clothing, and quilts for family and friends over the years. If you ever visited Dorothy at home, you were sure to be greeted with a big hug and smile and the offering of refreshments, snacks, or if you timed it right, a homemade meal. Whether you knew her for a day or decades, Dorothy’s warmth and generosity have left a lasting impression on everyone she welcomed into her life.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Wednesday April 30 from 1:30 PM to 3:30PM with words of remembrance beginning at 1:30PM.
If you are unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to watch the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh.

So sorry for your loss. May you be both be comforted by all the wonderful memories you have
of her and with her.
My prayers and thoughts are with you both.
We are so sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends. Our sweet cousin always had the biggest smile when we would visit. Unfortunately as the years passed and families grew up and spread out, our visits became farther apart. Dorothy and family always had a very special spot in our hearts and with this sad news we think of all deeply and keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
