Lloyd Lovell
Peacefully surrounded by his family at the Exeter Villa on Tuesday, June 30 2009 in his 101st year. Born in Chatham Township, the son of the late George and Sarah (Nee McKellar) Lovell. He was married to the late Margaret St. Clair (nee Bond) June 25th, 1930. He shall be sadly missed by his son Keith and daughter-in-law Myra Lovell of Exeter and daughter Patricia Jones and partner Edward Blowes of Sebringville. Predeceased by his beloved son Leonard Lovell of Kippen (1999) and daughters’-in-law Janet (1989) and Roberta (2002). Predeceased by eleven siblings, sisters Vera Kennedy, Sarah Gray, Margaret Haskett, Nettie Lovell, Hazel McCann, Mary McDermott, and brothers Stephen, Neil, Ted, George and Gordon Lovell. Loving Grandfather of David and Judy Lovell of Kippen, Kevin Lovell and Anne Parker of Denfield, Lori (nee Lovell) and Derek Regier of Hensall, Matthew Jones and Annette Weir of Stratford and Michael Jones of Stratford, Tim and Cathy Lovell of Dorchester, Melanie Lovell and fiancé Terry Bender of Grand Bend, Philip and Vanessa Lovell of Byron, Myla (nee Lovell) and Mike Dykstra of Exeter, seventeen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He and Margaret began farming near Darrell in Chatham Township then moved to the “Bond” farm near Louisville where they lived and raised their three children. In 1956 they moved to the “Jarrott” farms near Kippen. They retired from farming in 1966 and moved to Exeter. Lloyd was a Public School Trustee of Louisville and was a very active member of the Louisville Baptist Church. He was a director on the Ontario Sugar Beet Growers Association and the Tuckersmith Telephone System. After moving to Exeter Lloyd was an adjuster for the Ontario Crop Insurance for several years and involved in many community projects. Lloyd was very proud when he received his 32nd Degree Scottish Masonry. He shall be sadly missed; his many stories of his life will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, one west of Main, Exeter on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 4th at 11AM with Rev. Mary Beth Wilson officiating. Interment Hensall Union Cemetery. Donations to Shriners Childrens’ Hospital, Multiple Sclerosis Society or Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
