Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 of Exeter, formerly of Crediton and Brinsley at the age of 90. Devoted wife of the late Douglas Lewis (1998). Proud mom of Jackie and Fred Wells, Dan and Mary Ann Lewis, Debbie and the late Doug Case (2019), Barb and Peter Tracz, Vicki and Paul Meadows, and Kevin and Rita Lewis. Adored grandma of Sheri and Darren Micallef, Shelly and Devon Prtenjaca; Angela and Jason Gaboury, Amanda Lewis and Katy Flemming; Kerri and Steve Schepers, Jenn Case and Ryan Knee, Becky Case; Kim and Zbyszek Koza, Sarah Tracz and Blake Wilson; Kyle and Angela Meadows, Mike Meadows and Amanda Boutin; Jamie and Shannon Lewis, and Jenna and Tim Bilcke and great-grandma of 23. Dear sister of Isabel McDonald, and Arnold Andrews. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and close friends. Predeceased by her parents Harvey and Viola (Hamilton) Andrews and her great-grandson Christian Gaboury (2012).
Donelda was known by many people across the communities in which she touched. She shared her love through baking and cooking many delicious meals for family, friends, and anyone who stopped in for a visit. Donelda tended to her gardens with that same love and was so proud of her flowers. Above all, her family was her pride and joy and she shared every bit of love she had, with them.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Friday evening from 6 – 9 PM, where Donelda’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 11 AM. Interment Mars Hill Cemetery.
Donations to Jessica’s House, VON – Middlesex Elgin, or Sprucedale Family Council would be appreciated by the family.

Thinking back so many decades – 1965, perhaps. Doug Lewis was such an up front and centre presence, and Donelda was the peaceful power behind the scenes. How welcome we all were when the Toronto McGoverns arrived for farm gatherings, everyone so comfortable in the Lewis family home.
We went to church and Doug played the organ. I remember his brilliant white socks on the pedals and now think that it could only have been Donelda who made sure they were utterly pristine as he pumped his way through the celestial chords!
