Rita was called home on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Peter Lazet (1980). Mother of Louise and Ron van Amerongen of Exeter, Paul Lazet of Goderich, Yvonne and Orval de Boer of Kakabeka Falls, Nelly-Rose and Eugene Bradley of Kitchener, and Diane and David Clark of Auburn. Oma of 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Sister and sister-in-law of Chris and Sue Guetter, Harry and Joan Guetter, and Theresa Bakker. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John and Nellie Guetter, siblings; Peter Guetter, Jean DeJong, and Daanie Guetter and her granddaughter Sheena Bradley.
Rita was born in The Netherlands and immigrated to Canada on August 1, 1949, when she was 18 years old. Following the passing of her husband, mom enrolled to work and train as a Homemaker, in which she was very proud of. She lived at Holland Christian Homes for 34 years and made her home there.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Wednesday from 11:30 – 12:30, where Rita’s funeral service will be held at 1 PM. Interment Clinton Cemetery.

Sincere condolences for your loss. But we are not without hope, as you will see your beloved mom in her eternal home. What a faithful daughter, Louise and your sisters as well. May the Lord cocoon you all in His love, presence and healing. Cherish the memories and hold each other close. May the Lord comfort you all and wrap His healing arms around you. What a beautiful picture of your mom, but I can only imagine the smile on her face now! Face to face with Jesus! She’s run her race and now she can rest in the arms of the Father. You all have my sympathy in the passing of your Mom. Rita and Peter had a apartment beside my Mom and Dad Thelma and Tom Twyford in Clinton l remember some of the family. l Got to see Rita a couple of times in the home at Brampton. One memory that sticks out was in Sept 1976 my dad was passing away in Clinton hospital and Rita came to visit and she prayed for my Dad .That meant a lot to us.
Rita a my Mom stayed in contact till my Mom passed away 22 years ago. Your in my prayers God Bless You All.

Losing a mom is never an easy thing, I have many memories of being at your home and time spent together as family. My deepest condolences to you all. Praying the knowledge that your mom is in the arms of her Lord and has been reunited with her heavenly family will bring you peace. Love to you all

Your dad Peter worked with my husband Don for many years. During that time we had the pleasure of meeting with your family on many occasions.
When my husband passed away in 2017, I received a lovely hand written note of sympathy from your mom which was so appreciated.
