Peacefully at the South Huron Hospital, Exeter on June 19, 2018 of R.R.#3 Parkhill and formerly of Zurich in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Lavery. Dear mother of Greg Lavery of Winnipeg, Kevin and Janet Lavery of Parkhill and the late Paul Lavery. Loving grandmother of Joshua of Vancouver, Ashton of Winnipeg, Cameron and Janna of Exeter, Samantha and Dan of Hensall, and Jessica of Parkhill. Loving great-grandmother of Ryder, Kylee, and Carter. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Stan Routley of Sarnia, Ken and Connie Routley of Sarnia, Jimmy and Rosemary Routley of Kitchener, Linda and Ed Boergois of London, Helen Routley of Forest, Dick Den Dulk of Sarnia, Bob and Donna Lavery of Alberta, and Vivian Lavery of London. Predeceased by Carl and Tiny Routley, Albert Routley, Audrey Den Dulk, Junior and Ellen Routley, Mary Routley, Sharon and Chuck Doxtator, and Alvin Lavery.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 49 Goshen Street North, Zurich on Monday, June 25, from 9:30-10:30 AM, where the memorial service will be held at 11 AM. Cremation with interment Bluewater Bronson Line Public Cemetery.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Sincere sympathy to all of Verlie’s family at this time of sorrow and loss.We knew her as a neighbour in Zurich,a caring and dedicated member of the health care team at Blue Water Rest Home and we were able to connect in Grand Bend later in retirement. She will be missed by her family whom she loved very much.–Lois and Doug Thiel

My condolence to all the family. I have many fun memories of Verlie and Gordie when we hung out together before and after their marriage. We spent time at dances, at the Routley house, the beach and playing cards, She will be missed by all who knew her

Many years ago, Verlie and I worked together at Bluewater R.H.
She was a powerful advocate for our residents. At social functions, we all were eager for Verlie’s famous cream puffs.
She & Gordie were devoted to one another.
