LAUGHTON: Nancy Susan Laughton, age 76 of Grand Bend passed away in her sleep on October 20, 2023. Born in London, Ontario, January 28, 1947, daughter of the late Ken and Anabel Laughton. Cherished sister of Jim Laughton (Laurel), special aunt to Catherine (Greg) Wolfkamp and their sons Nathan and Evan; Dennis (Lisa) and their children Haley and Ethan Laughton. Sue will be sorely missed by her best friends, Darlene McKaig, Mary Cardiff and the many friends she made at Grand Cove.
Sue is survived by her cousins John and Eleanor Waldie and the Spratt family of London.
Sue was a world traveler attending many World Championship skating events with her beloved mom. Darlene, Mary and Sue also enjoyed many trips all over the world.
She worked at the Royal Bank in many places across Ontario and retired to Grand Bend in 2007.
Sue loved crossword puzzles, euchre, playing board games and especially Bananagrams. She was also a voracious reader and was also involved with many activities at Grand Cove.
Sue’s wishes for memorial donations were to the Canadian Cancer Society (Research Only) and London Health Sciences Foundation (Heart and Stroke Centre).
The family wish to thank the first responders for their kind assistance.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Grand Cove Estates Clubhouse in Grand Bend from 2 to 4 p.m. Cremation has taken place and burial in Southampton Cemetery at a later date. We will all miss Sue’s energy and enthusiasm for life. For a petite person, she has left a large hole in the hearts of those who knew her.
Aunt Darlene, and Sue’s family. Please accept our condolences on the recent passing of Sue. It has been years since we seen each other, but our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sue was am amazing woman, full of life, laughter and love. She was enthusiastic about everything she did and everyone I knew, that knew her, loved being around her. Her ready smile and quick wit were much appreciated. She will dearly be missed by all of us.
