Glen Clarence Latour, in his 74th year, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones. He is now in the loving arms of his sisters and parents. Glen was born in 1947 to Ina (Owen) and Clarence Latour in London. He was raised in Exeter but being an army brat, lived in Trenton as a youth. Glen was an outdoor adventurer, aviation enthusiast, craftsman, woodworker, pilot, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and jokester. He taught us an appreciation of music, nature and the outdoors and how “real” campers do it. We were very proud of Glen when he earned his pilot & AME licence, and even prouder when he took on a business, which he successfully owned and operated for 10 years before his retirement.
Glen knew he had met the love of his life, Barb in 1969. They were happily married for 51 years. Glen was a loving, supportive and proud father to his three children Tony (Shannon Snell) Latour, David (Mary Pounder) Latour, and Nicole (Tim) Anderson. Glen was an adoring grandfather and great grandfather to his many beautiful granddaughters; Jessica (Daniel Lane) Pounder-Dunbar and Emily (Lalo) Hernandez, Dana and Faye Latour, Claire Anderson, Phoebe and Celeste Lane. Glen is survived by his sister, Ladeena (Gerald) Volland, and his brother Gerry (Mary Lou Core) Latour, his brother-in-law Roy Vodden and his many beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sisters, Sandra Asen and Lorraine Heywood.
Glen and Barb spent many of their retirement years travelling, gardening and taking care of their beloved dogs, Maggie and Keanu. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends and anyone who had the privilege to know Glen would call him a true and loyal friend.
Keeping with Glen wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Zurich (519-236-4365).
The family sends their unending gratitude to the staff and support team at St Elizabeth Foundation and LHIN. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Saint Elizabeth Foundation or The Lung Association.

So sorry Barb, to learn of your husband, Glen’s passing. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family. Always remembered you getting off the high school bus at Drysdale ( in those days) in our teenage years. Take care!

Sorry to hear of Glen’s passing, many memories of working with him at the airport. Glen was very successful in his aviation career and a pleasure to be around. A true craftsman, very proud of the cedar strip canoe he made, jokingly telling everyone that the yoke was a perfect fit for Barb’s neck, as she would be carrying it. Sending our sincere condolences to all your family on the passing of Glenn. I have memories of Glen when we were younger, Ron would take me with him when he was dating Lorraine, they lived at the RCAF base and Glen, Ladeena and I would hangout.

We are so saddened by the passing of our Uncle Glen. I have so many memories as a child of getting together with Aunt Barb, Uncle Glen Tony, Nikki, and David. We always had loads of fun. It was always nice to see Uncle Glen at the Latour reunions. I loved getting the emails he would send with funny videos, stunning pictures of the world and funny quotes – I will miss those emails!! Aunt Barb, Tony, David , Nikki and your families, please accept our heart felt condolences as you grieve the loss of your beloved husband, father and grandfather. Sorry Barb & Nikki to hear of Glens passing.First meet Glen in 1984. Worked with him and Nikki for about 10 yrs. He was a very smart man that was very witty as well. He was very generous . Barb and Glen took me in to stay with them for awhile and treated me like family. Lots of good stories to remember. What a good husband and father. So sorry for your loss.

As some of you know Glen and I worked together for a few years and we had good times together, lots of laughs. About 53 yeas ago Glen sold Lorraine and I a Filter Queen Vacuum Cleaner and it’s still going strong today and I’ve only replaced the filters. Purchase of a life time. No matter how old we get or how much time passes good memories of fun and laughter always stick with us.

I was so sorry to hear of Glen’s passing. He was such a kind, considerate man and had a lively sense of humour.
He was a loving dad, grandpa and husband and will have left you with a lot of good memories. He will be missed.
