After a courageous battle with mental health, Marg went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 in her 68th year. Cherished wife and childhood sweetheart of Harry Knip for over 53 years. Loving mom of Jilleana and Mark, Cherisse and Carl, and Josh and Sarah. Proud grandma of Riley, Elise, Alix, Kyleigh; Taylor (Steve), Mason (Lauren), Felicity (Julien), R.J.; Caleb, Keagan, Avery, Hudson, and Nora. Adored great grandma of Blakelyn, Braxton, and Brock. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Orval (Yvonne), Tony (Marian), and Andy. Fondly remembered by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Sybren and Esther deBoer, mother and father-in-law Victor and Julie Knip, and nephew Evan Dickins.
Marg was a woman who embraced life with both strength and heart—small but mighty in everything she set her mind to. She found great joy in the simple and meaningful moments: miles spent cruising the countryside in classic cars with Harry and their many friends, capturing life through her love of photography, and enjoying treasured weekends away scrapbooking with her dear girlfriends.
Friendships were an important part of Marg’s life, including a lifelong bond with her dear friend Wilma, beginning in grade school, and included countless walks, talks, and shared memories. She was deeply proud of her work as a business owner of Syfilco Ltd., alongside her brothers, and took great fulfillment in the work she did.
Her faith was an important part of who she was, and she held a deep love for her church and church family. Through all of life’s seasons, including her own personal struggles, Marg carried herself with quiet resilience and determination.
Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her family, who were at the very heart of her life.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Tuesday, April 7th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM.
Marg’s funeral service will be held at the Exeter Christian Reformed Church, 332 Huron Street West, Exeter on Wednesday, April 8th at 11 AM. Interment Exeter Cemetery.

I wish to add my sincere condolences to the many that are here. I knew Victor and Harry Knip. I worked for Victor when he was selling seed etc. I drove his truck delivering product. My precious wife is Helen Sigsworth Hiemstra daughter of the late James Sigsworth. She has a sister Ruth who is 94 living in Fairfax, VA. Brother Bill died many years ago. I remember Victor having a very bad back. I remember Harry growing sugar beets. I helped some then. I was only 16,17 years old then 81 now.

They say you spend more of your time with your work family than you do your actual family. Well this is very true and Marg was a huge part of that not only as an owner but a friend and someone you could always count on. At every Syfilco function we knew she would be walking around with her camera capturing everything she could (even though most of us hated our picture taken), but we knew it’s what made her happy so that made all of us happy. She left a huge impact on all of us and we promise we won’t forget that. Marg will be dearly missed by her Syfilco family and definitely never forgotten. We have all the pictures and memories to remember you and we will treasure them forever.

Harry and family: You all have had a difficult journey with Marg. The struggle with mental illness in a family is a shared experience. It hurts badly, and your family, friends are wrestling now with the finality of her life. But her illness doesn’t define her. She wrestled with those internal foes. She was so much more. Now, she is at peace. There’s grief mixed with relief. You now draw on your hope and conviction that God will take care of her. Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those crushed in spirit.” May grace and peace be given to everyone for the days ahead.
