She was a champion of people with intellectual difficulties and was a one of the women who started Arc Angels. She had an incredible work ethic, a wonderful sense of humour and it was a privilege to work with her and call her friend. I will miss you, Ann.

Our deepest condolences on the death of Ann. Know we are thinking of you at this sad time. We were so glad we knew her through Community Living and One Care as a volunteer. I was also glad I had the chance to continue to see Ann from time to time at the grocery store, usually weekly with Eloise. We always stopped to have a little chat. Ann was a special person who will be sorely missed.

Please accept our very deepest sympathy. Ann was a wonderful person, dedicated 100% to Community Living and to Arc Angels. I worked with her at Arc Angels for a few months and really enjoyed getting to know her and Eloise as the time went on. She was fair, kind,understanding, interested in the families of others, and a relentless worker. She was admired for her work ethic and her dedication to improving lives. I remember a time when she was finishing up a long day of work at Arc Angels and going to head to London to visit Harry who was a patient in the hospital. Eloise and her were ready to go out the door in five minutes and 2 customers arrived. She really did not appreciate the lateness of their visit but I shooed her out the door, saying to go, I would stay with the customers. The customer knew Ann was agitated about something. When I told her that Ann was on her way to visit her husband in the hospital, the customer immediately said, “We need to pray for her.” She grabbed my hand, grabbed her husband’s hand and she prayed for Ann, Eloise and Harry.” When I told Ann the next week about this, she got a wonderful laugh out of it and felt real joy at having been prayed for. That was Ann! She enjoyed her life, she appreciated others and she understood the power of prayer. Ray and I want you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.

l met Anne at a linedance demo at the Catholic Church in Exeter several years ago. She came up to the dancers after and asked if she could join us as she was never allowed to dance in Holland. Well, the next week she joined us and we had an awesome time wit her. She enjoyed herself very much and we enjoyed her also. RIP dear sweet lady.

I am saddened by the news of Ann’s passing. Ann was a tireless community volunteer with energy & stamina of someone much younger that one would often forget her actual age. I m so sorry we missed seeing that Anne had passed away. We were neighbours in Hensall growing up and then we were together on Abbey lane and also at the cottage…where Anne and Eloise always came for a visit. We chatted often and she always had a big smile. Our Condolences to Burt, Eileen, Peter and Eloise and families. You had a very loving mother.

Our deepest condolences to all of you. We were neighbours from the cottage, Houston Heights South. Eloise spent alot of time playing on the beach with our children as they grew up, during the summer months. Eloise also was with us on many wagon rides through out the neighbourhood. In later years she would go swimming in the Lake with Robin and I and the occasional motorcycle ride with me.. Anne loved the sun and reading, but not so much on the lake, she perferred to do that on the deck of her cottage. She was always cheerful and ready to help those in need. This is evident with her work at the Arc Angles in Dashwood. where my wife and I would visit both her and Eloise, when they volunteered time there. God has called home another angel and I’m sure she will be missed by many….. Kevin and Robin Ellis

My Dearest Cousins: I just found out today about Ann’s passing. We have trouble in our family so life is as it is. Dad passed away on February 3, 2010. Both your Dad and Mom had a loving place in my heart. It will be exceptionally hard for Eloise and of course, my heart goes out to you all. Dad was the youngest of 12 children and he lived the longest nearly 96 years old. Mom is now in a nursing home in Strathroy. So it always seemed so strange that Harry was a first cousin. Aileen you must be born the same year as I. I will be 64 this year. I am sorry I am late with my condolences but better late than never.
