John Ross Kinsman of Exeter, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the age of 68. John faced his illness with strength, grace and dignity, just as he lived his life. A beloved husband, father, papa, brother and friend; he was known for his kind heart, unwavering dedication and laughter.
Family was the centre of John’s life. He was a proud father of Michelle and Blake Robinson, Richard and his partner Lindsay, Jeff Kinsman, and Andrew and Jess Kinsman. Loving Papa of Jillian (Austin), Zackary, Magen, Davina, Gracie, Alesha, Naomi, James, Damon, Mia, Lyanna, and Hayden and cherished his role as “Great Papa” to David and of course, enjoyed the thought of more little ones, a legacy of love that will continue to grow. Predeceased by Karen, his wife of 36 years at her passing in 2011. Devoted brother of Dwight and Faye Kinsman, and Lyle and Julie Kinsman, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Frances (Hern) and Robert “Bob” Kinsman, and his brother Bill Kinsman.
John’s gentle wisdom, kind spirit, and warm smile will live on through generations that follow him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John’s family would like to thank the staff at LHSC – Victoria Hospital, Oncology department, South Huron Hospital, Dr. Lam and the staff and volunteers at Jessica’s House in Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Jessica’s House whose compassionate care brought comfort in his final days or donating blood in John’s memory would be deeply appreciated by the family.
