KERR: Robert “Bob” of Goderich, formerly of McKillop Township

Robert “Bob” Kerr, a resident of Southbridge Nursing Home, Goderich, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, in his 88th year. His is survived by his sisters, Betty Taylor, and Margie Black. Bob is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Born on February 15, 1939, Bob is predeceased by his parents James and Esther (Dorrance) Kerr, his brother Harvey, brothers-in-law Eddie Taylor, and Laurie Black, his niece Donna and her husband Jeff Bissett.

A long-time resident of McKillop Township, Bob “Bobby” started out farming but soon switched to making items from wood or metal – a kit car (Gatsby model) and a cedar strip canoe were a couple of his projects. He kept himself busy making and repairing furniture and small machinery. Bobby moved to the Brussels area in his later years before he became a resident of Southbridge, formerly Maitland Manor.

Visitation will be held at Northside United Church, 54 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Friday, August 7th from 11:30 – 12:30, where Bob’s memorial service will be held at 1 PM. Cremation with interment Maitlandbank Cemetery.

Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

My deepest sympathy. I always marveled at Bobby’s talents and taste for unique items. His car, his chinchillas or his lateset repair. He had a great eye for details. He was always a great neighbor.
