Peacefully, in her sleep at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 Julia (Overweel) Darbishire of Exeter in her 56th year. Beloved wife of Peter Darbishire. Dear mother of Stephen and Christopher Darbishire, both at home. Dear sister of Inge Mowat of Hensall and Ann Overweel of Zurich. Predeceased by her parents Jan and Margaret Overweel and a brother Wim. Friends may call at the Hopper Hockey Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Monday, July 11th at 11 AM with Father Ray Lawhead officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery. Donations to the Huron S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter or Ausable Bayfield Commemorative Woods/South Huron Trail would be appreciated by the family.

It was my great pleasure to know Julia so many years ago in high school. She was an individual of remarkable grace and gentleness. I’m not sure that I ever heard her utter an unkind word about anyone. She truly was a good friend to all those who knew her. How sad that she passed away at such a young age. I apologize for taking so long to write this.
