Condolence from JP MacDougall on June 5th, 2010 12:02 PM

I have the fondest memories of spending time at Aunt Jean’s and Uncle Harry’s during our summer breaks. She was a very special person who clearly loved her family and put them first, above all.

I remember starting my career as a Mountie in the small Cape Breton Community of St Peter’s. About a month into my first set of shifts I pulled a car over near town. While dealing with the driver my trainer asked me if I knew the lady waving madly at us from across the road. Much to my surprise I turned to see Aunt Jean almost jumping out of her shoes trying to get my attention! I was amazed to see her as she arrived unnanounce with Uncle Harry in tow! I don’t know how she knew where I was posted let alone that I would be in town at that moment. But then again, that is Aunt Jean! We had a great long chat and she ended up finding a distant relation to my trainer! I remember thinking, “If anyone can do that AJ can!”.

I know that Aunt Jean is resting in peace and that she is working her magic in heaven with her sister at her side. She will always be remembered everytime I snap a photo or send a card. I hope that her close family can find some peace in knowing how deeply she touched everyone that she met.

Love to all,
JP MacDougall and family.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Aunt Jean’s passing. She left an indelible mark on all of our lives and will not be forgotten. My memory of Aunt Jean is that she was always smiling, loved to take pictures and tell stories, and that she loved her family very much. We will all miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Uncle Harry and family.

Much Love,

Mike MacDougall and family
