JANSEN: Patricia “Pat” Johanna of London

Passed away at LHSC – University Hospital, London with her loving family by her side on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the age of 76. Beloved partner of Judy Dobbie for over 25 years. Cherished mother of Jenny Needham (Todd Pires) and Lisa Needham (Lori Klatt). Dear sister of Cathy Jewell (Gary) and John Jansen (Mary). Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Wendy, Julie, Brian, and Paul, dearest cousin Trinnette Van Raak (Annemie) and many cousins and family in Holland and Canada. Predeceased by her parents John and Nel (Loyens) Jansen.

Born in Hilvarenbeek, Holland, Pat immigrated to Canada with her parents at the age of four. She was devoted to her family, playing a vital role in their business in Ilderton and later carrying on their legacy with pride after their retirement. Pat’s kindness, dedication, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at LHSC – University Hospital for the care and compassion provided to Pat and her family during her stay.

A come and go celebration of Pat’s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Saturday, February 8th from 11am – 2pm, with words of remembrance starting at 12 pm. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations to London Health Sciences Foundation or CMHA in Pat’s memory would be appreciated by the family.

Condolence from Pat Goertz on February 4th, 2025 8:41 AM

Dear Judy, Jenny, Lisa, Cathy, John and the extended Jansen family,
Our deepest condolences on the passing of your partner, mother, sister and aunt. Pat was ALWAYS a very kind loving person who welcomed everyone into her home. She left us all with some great memories to hang onto.
My heart is heavy saying a final goodbye to Pat who has been a part of my life since I was a teenager. We had so many great times together over the years vacationing in her Cougar car which she was so proud of….none of us had our own car, so this was something special. Those times we spent bombing around the countryside and going to dances will be some of my fondest memories. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in Peace dear friend.

Pat and Ben Goertz

Condolence from Corine van Raak-Jansen on February 4th, 2025 1:12 PM

Beste familie,

Condolence from Jan Jansen on February 5th, 2025 4:33 AM

Judy, Jenny, Lisa, Cathy (Trieneke), John (Jan), dear family,

My sincere condolences on the passing of Pat (Pieternel).
I am Jan, son of uncle Koos, and oldest cousin of the Jansen family, remember well that uncle John (Joan) and aunt Nel (Pieta), Pat and Cathy (as a baby) emigrated to Canada. It had a great impact on the family in Hilvarenbeek (Jansen and Loyens).
The first years there was only contact via airmail letters. This showed that life was very hard for them. But they succeeded in building a large butcher business in Ilderton.
After about 10 years, uncle Joan and aunt Pieta came over from Canada for the first time. That was a great celebration, especially for grandpa Jan Jansen, who lived above our grocery shop.
Later, flying became more accessible and uncle Joan, aunt Pieta and also the cousins came to the Netherlands more often. A number of family members also went to Canada from the Netherlands.
Best regards, much strength and I hope you find comfort in good memories of Pat.
Jan Jansen
Oirschot The Netherlands
