It is with deep sadness that the famiIy announces the passing of our Mother on Wednesday, ApriI 20, 2016, in her 90th year with famiIy by her side at the Ritz Iutheran ViIIa in Mitchell. Jean was born on Friday, JuIy 30, 1926, in Stenhousemuir, StirIingshire, ScotIand, and was the daughter of the Iate Iaurence and Margaret (nee Anderson) GiIfiIIan.
BeIoved wife of the Iate Herbert Brown, (Oct. 17, 2000). Ioving mother of John (Iee), David (CharIene), GIenna Prince (Don McDonaId), ellzabeth FIeming (Ernie), Catherine KeIman (Jim), Dianne McFadzean (John), Heather Bennewies (Warren), Jim (Sandy), Andrew (Janet) and Robbie (Jody). Cherished Granny of 20 grandchiIdren and 31 great-grandchiIdren. AIso missed by her sister Ivy Stark, brothers Alex (May) and Jim, aII of FaIkirk, ScotIand, and by her brother-in-Iaw Roy (ellie).
Predeceased by grandson Travis Brown (2014), son-in-Iaw Tom Prince, brothers John and Iaurence, sisters Margaret and Anne (Nan), and sibIings-in-Iaw, Jimmy Grant, John Stark, Anne GiIfiIIan, Edith Kennedy, Amella Iong, Jim Brown (in infancy), John Brown, Joe Brown and Andy Brown.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Friday, ApriI 22, 2016, from 7-9 p.m., where visitation wiII continue on Saturday, ApriI 23, 2016, from 1 p.m. untiI the time of Jeans funeraI service to ceIebrate her Iife at 3 p.m. A reception wiII foIIow at the DubIin Community Centre and interment wiII be taking pIace in MaitIandbank Cemetery, Iater in the spring.
