Peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 of RR 1 Lucan in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Freda (Young) Van Arenthals (2007). Dear father of Gloria and Teddy Ouimet of Strathroy and John and Karen Arenthals of Lucan. Dear grandfather of Duane and Shauna, Adrienne and Jude, Jason, Breanne and Ethan; Jordan and Roseanna, Josh and Catherine, Alannah and Dylan; and great-grandfather of 7. Dear brother of Tanny VanderHoek of Lucan. Jake will be sadly missed by the Young family. Predeceased by his granddaughter Sarah, sisters Betsy Maas and Corrie Neetson and brothers Martin and Marien.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16th at 2 PM with Rev. Darrell Shaule officiating. Interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.
Donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Sorry to hear the loss of Jake. He was a wonderful man that we will keep in our hearts forever. He was a great friend to my mom of 63 years. He will be greatly missed by us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Love You Jake… R.I.P.

I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Jake,from when I was a kid and still lived in Lucan, Looking at all the old pics that were posted,made me smile. There was even one of my Dad(John) with hair..:) Uncle Jake and Aunt Freda`s place was always a fun place to be. Loved staying there is the Blue room,and talking to John in his Black room at the top of the stairs. Uncle Jake you were a great guy,and I loved helping you in the barn when I stayed there with my Dad. Heaven has a new Angel rest in Peace…HUGS
