Dave and I were in school together from the first day of kindergarten to the last day of high school. We were neighbours growing up and in those days we all lived a “Dick and Jane” life with hundreds of kids in our area of town playing shinny on our rink or kick the can in various back yards. When Dave&&single&&s family moved to Harpurhey the big attraction was the Longstaff pool. Dave was a long time member of the golf club along with Bunn and John and he was a good player. Mary, your wedding was an “event” and we still talk about the reception in Toronto and the fun we all had. I can&&single&&t believe that was 43 years ago and I sure cannot believe Dave is gone. I am so so sorry.

I was so sad to hear the news of David. I was a good friend of Barbara while growing up in Seaforth and spent a lot of time in the Longstaff home. Far from being the pesky little brother, he was instead kind and gentle with a permanent smile on his face. I have taken the time to read through all of the wonderful tributes written about him as a friend and colleague. It was heartwarming to know he remained the same caring guy into adulthood, touching the lives of others in a positive way. We have lost one of the good ones far too soon.
