HORN: Mary Olive of London and formerly of Exeter

On August 5th, 2018, we lost Mary Olive Horn (Wharry), beloved wife of John Horn for over 60 years. Together, they created a loving family with their four children Kathy (Bob) Wallace, Rusty (Marj) Horn, Patty (Allan) Case, and Joan (Andy) Black. A proud grandmother to her grandchildren; Kristen (Brad), Andrew (Julie), Wendy (predeceased), Stephanie (Al), Marsha, Liz (Greg), Ben, Alana, Sammy, Laurin, and Connor, as well as an adored Great Grandmother (GG) to her ten great grandchildren. Her lasting interest in all life pursuits illustrate her constant support of her family. Her values of education, contributing to the community, and love of friendships and family above all set a great precedent for her family which we take pride in upholding. Mary would often give back to those around her through participating in the Home and School Association, various church groups, and contributing to the senior community including her involvement with the VON. When she wasn’t giving back to those in need, she could often be found shopping, traveling, baking, knitting, reading, checking in with friends and family, or scheduling her next hair appointment. While Mary and John have a circle of friends too numerous to list, their time in Exeter and London, as well as at the farm, will always hold a special place. Whether it be through lawn bowling, euchre, shuffleboard, or nickel bingo, they were never short on meaningful connections. Mary is survived by her sister, Jean Martin, and brother, Jim Wharry. Predeceased by her parents John and Olive Wharry (Laraway), and her brothers Lawrence, Lloyd, Clarence and Joe. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, as well as her cousins and extended family. We would like to sincerely thank those who aided in her care.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Haskett Funeral Home (223 Main Street) in Lucan, Ontario. A visitation will take place on Thursday, August 9, 2018 one hour prior (10 am) to the funeral service at 11am at the Haskett Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Mars Hill Cemetery, North Middlesex.

In lieu of sending flowers, please consider sending donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice (London), Jessica’s House – South Huron Hospital Foundation (Exeter), or a charity of your choice.
