HORD: Donald Ernest of Ilderton
Posted By Haskett Funeral Homes On March 4, 2025 @ 3:06 PM In Lucan,Obituary | 55 Comments

Don passed away peacefully with his family by his side at LHSC – University Hospital in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Leilah (Ashton) Hord for over 58 years. Loving father of Philip Hord (Christy Huntley) of Carlisle, and Mark Hord of Sault Ste. Marie. Proud grandpa of Clarke, and Dylan of Sault Ste. Marie. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ken Hord of Rockwood, Louise Hord of Lambeth, and Susan Ashton of Wyoming. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Irene (Hudson) Hord, and brother Murray Hord (1989).
Don cherished time with family, found joy on the golf course, and had a lifelong passion for farming and woodworking. In recent years, he enjoyed the camaraderie and competition at Vintage Green, where he was a sharp pool player, a shuffleboard regular, and a wicked card shark. Don’s warmth, skill, and love for a good game will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Friday evening from 7 – 9 PM. Cremation has taken place, and Don will be laid to rest in the Spring at Littlewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Mission Services of London or Ailsa Craig Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
