HOGARTH: Brian John Clinton

HOGARTH:  Peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult illness, at Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter, on Saturday, August 20, 2022, Brian John Clinton ‘Hogie’ Hogarth, of Dashwood, in his 76th year. Brian was the only son of Lucien Victor (1988) and Ruby Elizabeth (nee Hewitt) Hogarth (1995) of Exeter.  He is and always will be sorely missed by his wife Margaret (nee Salmon) and his two daughters Heather (Michael Griffin) and Hilary (Sean Ryan). Beloved Grandpa to Zoey, Alec, Kate, James and Emily. He was the youngest brother to Elaine (2019) (Larry Baynham (2008)), Carole (Peter Jackson) and Bonnie (Conrad Sitter (2016)). Dear brother-in-law of Gerald (Barbara (1964)) (June (2018)) Martene, Marie (Charlie Tieman (1993)), Ruth Anne (Ron Merner (2013)), Eleanor Salmon (Adam Kwajafa). Uncle to Steve, Bonnie, Brad (2013), Chris, Cam, Jen, Russell, Douglas, Peter, Judy, Kari, Steve, Susan, Julia, Barbara, Will, Sarah and their families. A friend to so many, the memory of his sense of humour and sharp wit will linger on. He was an avid reader and shared his wisdom freely with anyone seeking advice.  At Brian’s request, cremation has taken place.  Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.  Hogie was a long-time employee with Andex, Exeter.  We ask that you remember him by reading a book, petting a cat, planting a tree, or going for a long country drive.  If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter or the Saint Elizabeth Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

My heart hurts for you Margaret, as it seems you were always together. And such good times we had together. Whether it be collecting greens for our Christmas decor, cleaning the many Canna bulbs, nurturing that seedling into something beautiful, Hoagie always had an opinion, an off colour story or a song to sing. He was one of a kind who will truly be missed

Dear Marg. We were so sorry to read of Hogeys passing. He was a friend for many years, in high school and working with him for many years at Andex. He always called me Kathryn Lynn. A wonderful smile and always a twinkle in his eye like he knew something you didn’t. You will have many good memories of a great guy. May he rest in peace.
