Due to an unforeseen health emergency Scott passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:01 AM at University Hospital in London, Ontario. He was 52. Dearly beloved son of Joan Rosehart and step-father Lenny of Goderich. Scott was predeceased by his father Glenn Hodgins (2020), step-mother Grace Hodgins (2016), and grandparents Harvey & Lois Hodgins and Russell and Dorothy Oesch. Brother to Dennis Hodgins (Taryn Holmes) of Sherwood Park, AB; Michelle MacDonald (Elliott) of Lucknow; Kristy Savage (Ken) of Sarnia; and step-brother to Shanna Barnim (Brian) of Bayfield; and Shelley Bryson (Dave) of Exeter. Proud uncle to Caresse, Spencer, Koedi, Kurtis, Kylie, Ethan, Chelsea, Karaleena and Blake.
Scott was a farm boy whose heart never left the farm. He worked at The Andersons (W.G. Thompson) in Hensall for 25 years. Outside of work Scott was an avid sports fan who played soccer and baseball and enjoyed going to Knights, Blue Jays and Leafs hockey games. He also enjoyed watching any football game on TV. Scott also never passed up on a game of euchre. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hensall Branch 468.
Scott has given the Gift of Life through organ donation via Trillium Gift of Life Network. We ask friends and families to discuss organ donation with their loved ones and consider supporting the Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN).
A memorial service for Scott will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Saturday, January 11th at 2 PM (please arrive by 1:45 PM) with Bob Heywood officiating. A reception and celebration of life will follow the service at the Exeter Legion, 316 William Street, Exeter from 3:30 PM – 6 PM to tell stories and socialize with Scott’s friends and family. A family interment will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery, Brinsley.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Royal Canadian Legion, Hensall Branch #468.

Deepest condolences to the entire family. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time.
The Oesch family would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Joan & Lenny, Dennis, Michelle, Kristy, The Hodgins & their families. Our hearts are broken and we were fortunate to have Scott present at the annual Oesch family Christmas on Sunday. As Scott was giving out his big bear hugs he said “Family is everything to Me”. He spoke highly of his co-workers and his 25 year accomplishment at Thompson’s. He was a proud member of the Hensall Legion and sold us all tickets for the turkey draw. Scott was a very generous, kind and thoughtful soul who will be greatly missed. Scott will live on in our memories and through the lives he has touched, especially the lives he has saved and improved through his organ donation. Until we meet again.
Love,
The Oesch Family
I’d like to extend my condolences to Scott’s family.
To Scott’s Family,
My condolences to everyone. Scott was a dedicated worker and took pride in what he did at Thompson’s. Gone too soon but will live on in our memories and the people he helped through his donation. A guy who truly cared for others and he would often talk about his niece and nephew that he enjoyed spending time with and spoil.
It was with a very heavy heart that I found out that my friend and co-worker Scott had passed. He was a good man who worked hard, and had “pet” names for those close to him. Mine was Big Kahuna…which I will miss hearing. Scott became a trusted friend and someone that you could share a laugh with. He was also compassionate when you were down, and for me that was when I lost my dad. I will hold on to my memories of Scott, and smile when they burst into my thoughts. To Scott’s family. Please accept all my heart felt condolences on your loss. Like you, I will never forget him.
Scott will be missed in Hensall, he was always good for a smile and a wave as you drove through the yard.
My condolences to the family in this hard time It’s a great loss. R I P. Scott. Gone but never forgotten.
