I knew Don Heywood for over sixty years. He had many fine qualities, but the one I appreciated the most was that he was a quiet person. I am also a quiet person so I was always happy to be in his company (even if we didn’t talk much).

In giving some thought to what I wanted to say in my message of condolence I was reminded of an old saying: “Be careful of the quiet ones. They are the ones who actually think.”

Yes, we to are saddened to lose Don ,our good friend.
Jerry and Don were coffee buddies for many many years here in Exeter,and then when Don and Joan came to Maple Leaf in Florida,he joined in with the group down there.
As of last week Jerry felt privileged to pick Don up and take him for coffee 3afternoons …wherever Don was he always created a happy and fun loving atmosphere.
He could tell a good story and liked to join in on a good laugh, or a phisty discussion.
We are going to miss you good buddy ,but we will never forget you!
