Hilda was a wonderful stylish lady. I had many good chats with her at the apartment. Her and Matt were definitely cherished members of Ilderton United.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Hilda. She was a good friend to us for many years and we enjoyed many great meals and laughs in Ilderton.
She loved her family and life in Canada but never forgot the people and places back in “The Wee Six” (Northern Ireland).

Those we love don’t go away,

Still missed, still loved and very dear.

I remember visiting Mr and Mrs Harbison in Ilderton when I was a little girl back in the 70s. They were always generous with their time and attention. I’ll always remember Mrs Harbison’s big smile. My condolences.

Hilda and Matt were great Ilderton Community people. Always supporting local events. They were faithful members of the Ilderton United Church. Being a member of the Ilderton UCW, Hilda was always helping with Church events-baking, volunteering and whatever else had to be done.
Thinking of you at this sad time.

“A life well lived.” That describes Hilda. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. My sympathy on her passing.

Sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was always such a happy lady with a warm welcome and huge smile.

I have so many fond memories of Hilda! There were church functions. Marcie and I remember Hilda bringing clothes for us from Young Canada. They were always so generous with letting all of us neighbourhood kids use their pool. I would constantly cut across their property on my way to visit my friend, Val. Most of all, I remember her making us feel that we were very special, always giving us huge smiles. We were lucky to have known her. Take care.

91 years is a long and fruitful time to contribute to our world and community life.

Andy, Barb, Kathline and Sam …. you have been an important part of our family life. Kathline and Sam have both babysat our children , Daria and Angus. Andy provided us with a fantastic opportunity to establish our family life in Waterloo. Andy has carried on in the great Irish tradition of family first. Your mother, I’m sure was very proud. We are looking forward to an opportunity to join with you in a wonderfull Irish wake to celebrate your mother’s life, somtime after this covid 19 thing dies down.

The pictures are especially beautiful as you look back on that day with Hilda being the centre of yours and Sawyer’s family. Pat and Andy, so very sorry to see that your mom passed away earlier this year. Hilda and Matt were such good friends to my parents Sadie and Bobby. I remember many gatherings in their lovely home in Ilderton. Your parents love for each other shone through in everything they did. I saw a picture of my mom in the online pictures, she loved Hilda so much. ps I still have your mom’s tomato chutney recipe that I make all the time. My condolences to the entire family.
