HANEY: Lyle of Seaforth
Posted By Haskett Funeral Homes On April 22, 2026 @ 1:15 PM In Obituary,Seaforth | 143 Comments

After a short battle with cancer, Lyle passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the age of 71. Beloved partner of the late Gwen Good (2024). Loving father of Daryl Haney (Shezlene), Yvette Haney (Tony Pickering), Anette Scarrow (Carmen), Lindsey Haney (Alexis), and Adam Haney (Kate). Proud grandpa of Rheese (Emily), Reegan, Dane, Isla; Mallory; Adele, Georgia; Sawyer, and Wyatt. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Glen Haney (Deb), Terry Good (Kim), and Murray Good (Chantelle). Fondly remembered by his niece, his nephews, and his adored dog, Dakoda. Predeceased by his parents Warden and Anna (Watson) Haney, and brother Robert Haney.
Lyle was a proud lifelong farmer with a deep passion for the land. For many years, he worked with Corteva (formerly Pioneer Seed), building lasting connections throughout the farming community—often with his loyal dog, Dakoda, riding alongside him. Lyle was a dedicated member of the Seaforth Agricultural Society and Egmondville United Church, where he was always quick to lend a hand, especially at the well-loved pork chop dinners. He also took great pride in caring for Egmondville Cemetery, ensuring it was always kept in pristine condition. Lyle will be remembered as a hardworking, dependable man whose life was rooted in faith, family and farming. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in every sunrise over the fields and every harvest season that follows.
Visitation will be held at the Seaforth Agricultural Society, 140 Duke Street, SEAFORTH on Monday from 5 – 8 PM, where Lyle’s Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 28th at 1 PM. Private family interment Egmondville Cemetery.
Donations to the Egmondville United Church or Seaforth Agricultural Society (etransfer to [email protected]) would be appreciated by the family.
We are sending all the Haney and Good families our sincere condolences. Lyle was always such a leader in our Seaforth community. He will be missed by all.
