I first met Fred in 1991 when Ross Ribey of the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth introduced me to him, and to funeral service. It is been my honour and privilege to now have worked with Fred, Steve and Nick through my association with their fine concrete vault business in Zürich, that Fred co-founded.

Dear Steve, Nick and Haberer Family All,

We were saddened to hear of Fred’s passing. I was so privileged to meet Fred for the first time in June 1975 when I came home to Clinton to work for Mac Cameron and Clarence Denomme the then owners of the Ball Funeral Home. Three years later in June 1978 my wife Marguerite and I were fortunate enough to be able to purchase the business and expand it to other locations in Blyth and Goderich over the years until we retired in October of 2012. I always enjoyed the relationship we had with Fred and with Haberer Concrete . Fred was a true gentleman and was always very professional when attending the burial of those loved ones entrusted to our care. The respect he and his staff showed and the quality of the products and service he provided were always appreciated by us and I am sure by many others in the funeral industry. I always held him in high regard and I will miss his friendly smile and his firm handshake each and every time we met. Please know that we share in your loss of this fine gentleman and be proud of the legacy he has left you as a family and in business. Our most heartfelt sympathies and prayers are sent to both you and your staff. Well done thy good and faithful servant and may you Rest In Peace. Michael & Marguerite Falconer ( former owners of Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd.)

Dearest Aunt Audrey, Chris and Steve and familles,

We offer you all our deepest condolences at the loss of Uncle Fred. He loved you all very deeply and you will surely miss him.
He accomplished so much in his lifetime, and left each person he met with a smile in their hearts. That is the person he was; open, honest, and caring.
I remember when Doug, Don , Cathy I would spend time in Zurich in the summer, and Uncle Fred welcomed Doug at threshing time to help along with all the others. ( I believe Doug drove the tractor.)
Uncle Fred was a gentleman to the core, and we will all miss him.
Praying for you .
God will carry you all through this, so trust your hearts to Him.
Love , Elizabeth and Gaetano,( Guy)

Condolence from Doug McBurney on January 28th, 2021 10:56 PM

My sincere condolences to the Haberer family. I first met Fred in 1971 when I
started working at the funeral home in Wingham. From the very first moment he was without doubt a true gentleman. Fred was always the same no matter how busy he was, he never seemed to busy for a short chat.
After he retired it was a pleasant surprise if he showed up at a burial on a busy day.
It was an honour to have known him.

Doug McBurney
