I cannot believe what I am reading. Linda was a good friend, and was just here the other day, to invite Don and myself over for supper. Unfortunately, I was not available at the time, and missed seeing her. How I am regretting that now. We spoke afterwards that night, and made arrangements to do it another night. She spoke so often of her family, how much she missed you all, and how much she worried and cared about each and every one of you. Covid was so hard on Linda, as she had to worry about you all from so far away, and couldn’t be there if you needed her. My heart is broken,, Linda was one of a kind,, a girl who spoke her mind,, danced her own dance, and lived life the best way she could, even though her heart felt shattered. Life didn’t end up the way Linda thought it was going to be,, and it was very hard on her to try to carry on alone. But she managed better then I ever could have,, and always had that beautiful smile, and cherry attitude every where she went. I will miss Linda’s midnight or later computer chats, and I know that Violet is never going to have another “mother” who will love her like Linda did. My condolences to the entire family,, I feel like I know each of you personally, as Linda spoke of you all so often. Thinking of you all, during this completely unexpected and heart breaking time in your lives.

The world is going to be VERY different without someone as unique, comical, tenacious as Linda (Red). Her soul & spirit will be forever talked fondly, amongst all who had the pleasure of knowing Linda. I pray that Linda is fishing with her loved ones in heaven – Catching “the big one”, and she is finally feeling complete happiness.

To Linda’s family – Linda saved me from having all my hair burnt off my head. I lit a bbq on a pouring rainy day (not paying attention naturally), and the lid/ flames blew up in my face, there I was suddenly on fire! Linda ran to my aid. Us ladies laughed so hard afterwards as I nursed some wounds plus missing eyebrows! It was a story we always spoke of when we saw each other. Linda’s spirit filled laughter in a boring room, and made several people feel appreciated.

She will very much be missed, and she will NEVER be forgotten. My family’s hearts/thoughts/prayers go out to all.

I can’t believe I just found out about this just now. I’m sorry I didn’t get to pay my respects in person. I had alot of good times with Linda. Whether it was down fishing at the river or taking my son and I down to the beach to go swimming and look for treasures metal detecting. She was most definitely a one of a kind lady that loved to laugh and most definitely loved to talk lol. I had many times when we would go fishing at night. I would pass out on the river bank while talking to her and I would wake up hours later to her still talking to me lol. I would say you know I was sleeping eh. She would say. Yeah I could hear you snoring about 2 hours ago. But I just like talking lol. she was proud to be a Newfoundlander and always talked about back home.
I will always have nothing but good memories of her.

Cheers. Newfy Linda.
Hope your at peace and say hi to everyone for me.
Till we meet again my dear.

I was very saddened to hear that Linda had passed. I didn’t learn if it till May 28th, after the visitation had already been held. Linda was a very kind, friendly and funny person. I remember spending the night at their trailer in bayfield and making toast on the fire in the morning (as well as several other memories). She would stop by my parents house to chat and visit and it was always a good time. Something about her was so welcoming. She will be greatly missed, I will be searching our family pictures for her as I know we have several.
