GUENTHER: Jack Lloyd

GUENTHER:  Peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, Jack Lloyd Guenther, of Exeter, formerly of Zurich, age 74.  Beloved partner of the late Mary Ilene (Mathers) Richardson (2010).  Loved father and father-in-law of Lee Anne and Trevor Mills of Kirkton.  Cherished grandpa of Zoey and Shey Mills.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jim and Mhairi Guenther of Kincardine, Betty and Joe O’Rourke of Atwood, Barb Van Gorp of London, the late Bob (2017) and Barb Oesch of Dashwood, the late Dorothy (2022) and late Reg Morrison (2021), John and Donna Mathers of London, Ross and Marlene Mathers of Exeter, Lloyd and Bonnie Mathers of Crediton.  Remembered by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.  Predeceased by his parents Lloyd “Sam” Earl (1995) and Vera (Oesch) Guenther (2020).  At Jack’s request, cremation has taken place.  A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Interment Exeter Cemetery.  We all have great memories of the many get togethers in Jack’s Garage in Zurich with his friends and family.  Jack was a man of few words, often listening rather than talking.  He loved his family, all animals, having many pets and even taking in strays, farming at Hayter’s in Dashwood and Keys Farms in Varna and of course crop touring with Mary.  Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. We would like to thank the South Huron Hospital, Exeter  for their amazing care; they took of Jack from August 22-29. Our community is so lucky to have this great hospital “The Little Hospital That Does” with such caring staff.  If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to the South Huron Hospital Foundation or your local OSPCA/Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
