GREEN: David “Dave” George

GREEN:  Suddenly, but peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, David “Dave” George Green of Grand Bend, age 80.  Beloved husband of Averil Joy (Fry) Green.  Loved father and father-in-law of Debbie and Shawn Allen of London, Wendy Green-Lapointe and Mike of St. Thomas, Karen and Chris McGuffin of Thorndale.  Cherished grandpa of Kyle and Jamie Allen, Troy and Nicole Allen, Shayna Allen, Brian Box and Amanda, Shannon Box and Rick, Zachary McGuffin and Kayli McGuffin.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Rex Green, Keith Wood and John Marshall all of England.  Also remembered by Averil’s Family and many nieces, nephews and their families.  Predeceased by his parents James Brian and Dorothy Barbara (Howarth) Green, sisters Hazel Wood and Carol Marshall.  David worked for many years with the Ford Motor Company, Talbotville.  At David’s request, cremation will take place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, time and location to be announced.  Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.   The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses at the South Huron Hospital, Exeter and Dr. M. Hammond, Grand Bend for their care and compassion shown to them during this difficult time.  If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

His contributions to our club were one of the major reasons for Marconi’s success. He was a true sportsman and a gentleman and a friend who will be missed by those who knew him.
