After a courageous journey with cancer, Gerry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, November 10, 2025 at the age of 62. Cherished husband of Gail (Bateman) Godin for over 40 years. Loving dad of Chantalle (Micheal) Turgott, and Greg Godin. Proud Papa of Ryden, Koa, Noxx, and Abriana. Missed by his “girls” Maggie and Molly, and Greg’s dog Chesley. Beloved son-in-law of Virginia Bateman. Dear brother of Georgie, Laurie (Rick), Sue, Denise (Mike), Gisele, Nicole, Christine and brother-in-law of Valerie (Ken), Norma (Danny), Terry (Gloria), and Tina. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Welcomed home by his parents Donat and Colombe Godin, and his brothers; Roger, Guy, and Marcel, brother-in-law George and father-in-law Murray Bateman.
Gerry was a lifelong tinkerer, he could often be found in his garage, fixing, building, or simply puttering away. He worked for many years as an equipment manager, and when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with family, the loyal company of his dogs and casting his fishing pole every so often.
A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Gerry’s birthday, Sunday, November 16th from 2:30 – 5 PM, with words of remembrance at 3:30 PM. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at the Palmerston Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry’s memory to St. Elizabeth Health, Stratford General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

I am so very saddened to learn of Gerry’s passing. Your family has been a part of our extended family for many years while we worked to build Design Concrete and Promat. Gerry was an integral part of ensuring the machinery always ran at its optimum. I so enjoyed Gerry’s French wit and his enthusiasm. I know you will sorely miss him. He is now with Alan in that grand concrete plant in the heavens, and they can continue to design and build machinery for whatever strikes their fancy.
Please accept my heartful condolences. Thinking fondly of you all and sending warm hugs
