Condolence from Edith Martin (Steckle) on January 24th, 2024 9:20 PM

What a lovely lady who married into our family many years ago and I’ve loved her dearly ever since! She always welcomed me “home” whenever we showed up back at Zurich church which is where we usually met in the last years. My mind is flooded with memories, though, of all four, Ken, Jean, Keith and Helen, and all the fun and teasing and love I grew up with. I’m sure Ken has been watching and waiting for the love of his life and I’m looking forward to seeing them again, all four reunited.

I can’t be at the funeral but my thoughts and prayers will be with the family as I pray God’s comfort and peace as you say “Goodbye” for now. God bless each one of you with His loving Presence.

Norma, Elaine, June and families. Our deepest sympathy is with you all at this difficult time. We cherish the friendship we had with your mom as she was one of the sweetest ladies ever. We met your mom when my mom Ev McAllister moved into Maplewood apartments. Jean helped my mom settle into Maplewood as she encouraged her to join into the activities and going for lunches and sit under the tree in the red chairs. We would take them out on a little day trips, One Christmas we took them to London to see the Christmas lights at Victoria Park in London, and all the way from London to Zürich. The two of them just loved it and your Mom would thank us quite often on how much she enjoyed that outing. I would still visit her after Mom passed as she was across the hall from my mother-in-law. When you would walk into her room, her face would just light up, she was always so grateful to see you. She was a very precious lady and I will miss her. RIP Jean
