GINGERICH: Ephraim

Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich, on Friday June 18, 2010, Ephraim Gingerich passed away in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Elsie (Martin) Gingerich. Dear father of Yvonne Brine of Vancouver, Mary Margaret Gingerich and Lyn Hagglund of Vancouver, Jane and John Westerveld of Zurich and Debra and Wayne Winkler of Vancouver. Loving grandfather of Nathan Brine and Michele , Adam Lloyd and Aaron Barker and Ryan and Amy Lloyd. Dear brother-in-law of Eleanor Gingerich. Predeceased by his parents Christian and Annie (Baechler) Gingerich, brother Simon, sisters Lydia (Dan) Steckle, Mary (Allan) Steckle, Edna (Harold) Johnston, Ida McClinchey Godkin and husbands Ernie McClinchey and Ed Godkin, Anna (Emerson) Erb and Margaret (Harold) Soper and grandson Peter Brine. Ephraim served as pastor at Blake Mennonite and Zurich Mennonite Churches for many years and after retirement he acted as interim pastor for various congregations.

Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in Zurich Mennonite Church on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. Pastor Phil Wagler officiating . Cremation to follow. Private family interment.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
