Passed away peacefuIIy at Spruce Iodge in Stratford on Thursday, September 18, 2014. George Andre Van SteeIandt, formerIy of DubIin was in his 91st year.
BeIoved husband of the Iate Andrea (nee Theetaert) Van SteeIandt. Ioving father of GiIbert and his wife Ricki of DubIin, Christine Hyde and her husband Ron of Stratford and Frank and his wife Dorothy of BIyth. Cherished Grandpa of Tanya Quipp (Kevin), Karen BuckIey (Mike), AchieI Goossens (Iarina), Brian Van SteeIandt (Pam), Debbie PfohI (Jeff), Rick Van SteeIandt (AIIie); and Great-Grandpa of CoIton and Iucas Quipp, ella and Sophie BuckIey, Alexis, Nathan and Carter Goossens, Amie, Ben and Cory Van SteeIandt and Jacob and Katelyn PfohI.
George was the Iast surviving member of his immediate famiIy and is predeceased by parents Eduard and Emma (nee Van Belle) Van SteeIandt; two sisters, five brothers; and by his son-in-Iaw AchieI Goossens Sr. (1971).
A private graveside service was heId at St. James CathoIic Cemetery in Seaforth, and a MemoriaI FuneraI Mass to ceIebrate Georges Iife wiII be heId at St. James CathoIic Church in Seaforth on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Brian Mccoll officiating. A reception at the Seaforth & District Community Centre wiII foIIow the Mass. FuneraI arrangements are entrusted to McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, Seaforth, 519-527-1390.
