I’ve known Randy for over 45 years and he’s always been such a kind fellow. When we’d meet at the Zurich or Exeter building centres over the years, although he wasted no time getting his business done, he always took the time to have a chat with this Zurich boy, while waiting to be served. He was always willing to share some helpful hints from his vast knowledge of home building. Randy never missed waving anytime we’d meet and pass by in vehicles, which happened on a very regular basis. What an awesome example of a hard working, caring and serving human being he was to his family, community and to all of us.

A couple of years ago our son Jack started his summer job and then Co-op Placements with Doug Geoffrey Construction. On that 1st day he met this guy named Randy Geoffrey and we have heard about Randy ever since…. He took Jack under his wing and showed him so much about construction and life in general. He was the one on a job site that would put glue on the handle of my hammer or nail my shoe to the floor, lol, he was a lot of fun. Randy will be deeply missed by all !!!

It was always a great moment to cross paths with Randy in the community. Throughout my life growing up in Zurich and in my adult hood. He always was welcoming and took the time to say hi and see how was going. Always had a smile on his face.

I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. Randy was such a kind and gentle man, loved by everyone in the community.

One of my favourite memories of him growing up on Quimby Drive was during one of the many afternoons when the neighbourhood was flooded with a group of 30 or so kids playing kick the can. On that particular day, I was hiding in the flowerbed on the north side of Randy and Vicki’s house. Randy came out to do some yard work and was definitely surprised when my head popped out between two shrubs. A big smile came across his face, and he continued on past me, didn’t blow my cover at all. That’s the kind of man he was… just happy to see all the kids playing and having fun… no worries about being in the flowerbed or hiding in his shrubs. How lucky we all were to grow up in a neighbourhood like that with neighbours like Randy.

He will be greatly missed by so many… you are all in my thoughts.

I have never read so many condolences offered up for 1 person … your person “Randy”.
They all have one theme in common – the love, gentleness, caring, compassion of a human being given freely in a fun-loving way. The road ahead for all of you will be difficult – when you feel the loneliness, turn to all of the sentiments left in honor of Randy. Hug those words tight, revel in the memories he left with you. He is still with all of you – you just can’t see him. I am overwhelmed at how many lives Randy touched.
