To the entire Freeman family,

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Jim. Growing up in Lucan, as a child and teenager Jim was a very well known man. If he wasn’t walking the streets he was at the arena cheering on the Irish. He always made time to say hello, or give a nod of the head in a stroll pass each other. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.

Condolence from Pat and Rita Holland on November 21st, 2014 9:49 AM

To the Freeman Family
I am very sad to hear of your father’s passing,
I spent a couple of summers working for Jim at Lucan Hydro, and to this day I still recall the hard work, the story’s and the excitement. One in particular, we had half of Lucan’s down town with no power, while we were checking a few business, we were offered a free pizza, we sat and ate it, I still to this day believe no one actually knew why their power was out for an extra half hour.
I am now in my 40th year of being in the electrical trade and I thank Jim proudly for giving me that kick start.
His endless commitment and love for minor hockey in Lucan was second to none, and I felt privileged for playing hockey under his
command.
It was an honour knowing him and I will always hold tight those many memories of him.

Pat and Rita Holland

In sympathy to the Freeman family….

I wish to extend sincere sympathy to you in your time of loss. Jim was a hydro lineman when I started to work for Ontario Hydro in
Lucan. Some of those that worked with Jim, were Lou Staples,
Herb Stretton, Ray Elson and of course Ralph Rummell.
At that time, Mr. Harold Whyte and Audrey Andersen were in the
office. Growing up, I practically lived at the arena and Jim was
also there, scheduling and looking after hockey teams and Donna
was always involved with our figure skating interests.
Both Jim and Donna were good ‘ Lucanites’
