Condolence from John&June Ball on April 30th, 2011 3:00 PM

Dear Rob and Sally and families
We were saddened to learn of Ted&&single&&s passing. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy and know that we are thinking of you at this very sad time.
Ted and Jean were wonderful friends to June and our family. When we first came to Seaforth they were both very influential in our lives as we were admittedly still wet behind the ears! He and Jean were very good to us and our children. We were often invited for lunch or dinner and they were wonderful friends to have just down at the end of John street. If we ever needed any advice Ted was my go to guy and of course he had all kinds of stuff we didn&&single&&t have that he willingly lent to us.
On the teaching side Ted was my true mentor. He taught me more tricks in the education business than you can shake a stick at! From marking to balancing the attendance ledger he guided me through it all! I remember on one occasion mentioning to him in one of our early morning visits outside our classroom that we needed to buy a new washer and drier but we didn&&single&&t have the cash. He said just go down to Klings and get what you want and pay them when you can they won&&single&&t mind. This was a totally foreign concept to us as we were used to paying for something when we could scrape the $$ together. He taught us all about buying on credit and of course it is now routine for us all in this day and age!
Ted was a dear friend mentor and colleague and he made a huge impact on our lives as newcomers to Seaforth. Who knows perhaps he and Jean were largely instrumental in our our long stay in the community of Seaforth? His humour, wit, solid advice, and warmth will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In short Ted was a great man and he influenced the lives of all of us that were his friends.
With deepest love and sympathy
John/June Ball
