Dear Joan and Family,
It really seems not so long ago near the end of November when I last had a big chat with Stan, but time moves on. I had gone to the farm bush to cut some seasonal greens and looked up at the sound of a four wheeler coming across the property from one bush to another. It was Stan. His mission that day was hunting coons. He was a little bit dirty, smiling , and somewhat satisfied with his finds. We had a wonderful chat about the value of coon hides and other country stuff. Joan, we’ve seen you and Stan in many places since that afternoon but that is an encounter I will remember. It brings me a smile . I share it with you. With sincere sympathy Margaret Hern

Dear Joan and family. We were so sorry to hear of Stans passing. Always a smile and a twinkle in his eye. Plugtown has lost another of the good ones. Cherish the memories.
I lived on the farm next to Francis gang in our “growing up “ years. .
I spent many hours playing with Gerald climbing trees , etc.
I am so so sad to hear of Stan’s passing. The Stones and the Francis clan were very close.
Mom and Dad, Laverne and Violet Stone were good friends with Ross and Laurel. They always had fun together.
Wow, there are no words to help when this happens but we all know they were all well liked and will be remembered with joy..
I guess it would be the time for me to forgive Stan for eating my chocolate bar. We rode the bus together to Exeter and the thoughts of having my yummy treat on the way home made the trip easier. It was my saved chocolate bar in my book bag.
When I went to get it, it was gone. Looking around I saw Stan sitting in his seat with his wonderful smirk on his face, and I KNEW. I was so angry. I had waited all day for that tasty treat.
Stan and I laughed about that so many times in later years and I always told him I would never forgive him.
Those are the memories that keep them alive. Larry has been gone for 12 years now and he is still with us as we remember and talk about all the fun times we had.
Joan and Joan hold on. And never forget.
Our deepest sympathies to Joan and family. Stan will surely be missed in our community. Hugs to all.
Joan and family,
Sorry to learn of Stan passing.
Thinking of you all .

My dear Francis Cousins, We’re so very sorry to learn of Stan’s passing. I’m sorry we couldn’t be there with you today. I have so many fun and fond memories of the farm. All the Francis boys made every moment memorable. Who can’t say they loved being the subject of their incessant teasing – for we know – that is how they expressed their love and affection. It was the twinkle in those beautiful blue eyes that gave them away! After watching the service online, it is so easy to see and understand the legacy that Stan leaves behind in all his children and grandchildren. So much love! So many wonderful memories! You’re all in our hearts and prayers. Xoxo
