Booth 12 will always be remembered as ‘Doug’s Booth’. Forever thankful for our special friendship and bond with the girls! Will miss our chats, hugs and endless visits. So glad we made your trip to the Pinery happen and made wonderful memories! Rest in peace my dear friend!

So sad to hear of my friend Dougs passing, we became friends from a visit a Crabby Joes and remained friends over the last year or so! Over the last while I enjoyed some treats and meals to you when you couldn’t get out! Such a sweet man and so easy to talk to. Yes booth 12 will always be a great memory in my heart! I knew Doug Frame as an educator in two contexts: as a student teacher when I was assigned to his Toronto classroom to watch him teach, and as his Principal when I hired him to be Head of English at the Woodstock Collegiate Institute.
As an Associate Teacher for the Ontario College of Education (as it was called) I was very impressed with his inspired teaching. Over 50 years ago I still remember a class on Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” and thinking, that I could never be that good!
Doug was a gifted teacher as Head of English at the Woodstock Collegiate and challenged his students. Doug brought his fine intellect and love of language to his classroom. I know that he is fondly remembered by many students.

I had the privilege of being one of Doug’s students at WCI in the early 1980’s. I say privilege because he was one of the most (if not the most) incredible teachers I ever had. His teaching was always infused with the enthusiasm and passion he had for his subject. He always challenged us, believing we were capable of meeting that challenge. I always felt lifted in his presence. His influence on my life continues to this day. God bless you, Doug. You were an original.
My condolences to his family.

My condolences to Doug’s family. I was so fortunate to have Doug Frame as my English teacher at Woodstock C. I. I remember the first class with him where he said he could either be a mountain guide or a shepherd to us. He was definitely a mountain guide and lead as he challenged his students to do their best each and every day. I was so glad I had the opportunity to have him as a teacher.

To me, Doug was, and will always remain, a true “gentleman and a scholar”. He was my English Department Head during the years I taught at W.C.I. He supported me with his wise and kind advice, and he made me feel valued. He will remain as one of the most respected people in my life. Rest in peace now , Doug. My deepest condolences to Doug’s family .

I knew Doug for a short time but he certainly impressed me as a man of integrity and one of the few educators that really offered students a challenge and a desire to learn. He was a real academic and a true gentleman.

Mr Frame, or Doug as I have finally managed to call him over the past year was one of my teachers at WCI, many years ago. He was a wonderful teacher and made his classes interesting and enjoyable.
He was also a neighbour when I still lived at home in Woodstock and I sometimes ran into him and his wife walking in the evenings, many years ago now.
In the past three years I reconnected with him through my brother Andrew who had also been one of his students.
We have stayed in touch through email. snail mail and mostly over the phone the past seven months. I was very sad to hear of his recent struggles. 2020 has been a very hard year for people and certainly harder on some than others. On our last phone call he said “Lois, don’t cry when I am gone” I did not promise but have tried not to cry as he requested. I am remembering the good conversations, jokes and memories. Miss him but know he is no longer suffering.

Doug was my Associate Teacher at Thornlea during my first student teacher assignment as a Faculty of Ed student in the Fall of 1969. Working with his classes was my first teaching experience, and it inspired my 34 year career as an English teacher, department head , and Curriculum Coordinator in Thunder Bay, where I met him again during his years there. His passion for teaching and learning was infectious. He was one of the finest teachers I’ve ever known.
